The JMPS Portal
for
Jewish Manuscripts and Books Projects

The Jewish Manuscript Preservation Society (JMPS) was established as a not-for-profit organization in 2007. Its object is to educate the public by translating, transcribing, cataloging, preserving and making available to the public Jewish manuscripts and other Jewish books and documents. In 2009, JMPS entered into a joint venture agreement with The Friedberg Genizah Project to digitize manuscripts and other books and documents primarily relating to Judaism and make them and all related data available to the general public. The initial work of this joint venture focused on the Cairo Genizah and the product of this effort is available through the genizah.org website.

The Jewish Manuscript Preservation Society of Toronto, Canada

carries out many of its activities in a Joint Venture with the Friedberg Genizah Project. The aim of this Joint Venture is to further the Society's goals of
educating the public by preserving, identifying, cataloging, transcribing, translating and making available to the general public
Jewish manuscripts as well as other books and documents as they relate to Judaism and Jews.
